What the heck is Alternative Radio??

You’ve undoubtedly heard the phrase "alternative radio” used to describe our programming here at CIMN, but what you may ask, in a dazed and puzzled state, is alternative radio? Alternative radio stations are stations that seek to play music different than the overly-commercial CRAP that seems to fill commercial airwaves. There’s no preferenmce towards a certain type of music except that very few current "Top 40 hits" are played (and never, ever, ever any N.K.O.T.B.!! In line with alternative programming, artists that seldom get played on regular commercial radip-typically new, "up and coming", and independent artists.

When you tune into CIMN, the only thing you be sure of hearing is variety. Most of our DJs play alittle bit of everything, but some have a specific theme to their show. These themes range from heavy metal to soul to jazz.

Whatever your musical tastes are, they’re sure to be well represented on CIMN. If they’re not, just call our 892-CIMN (2466) request line and one or more of highly trained and capable DJs will more than likely be ablew to put it on for you. So tune us in - CIMN 102.3 Cable FM.
