Proposed Railway Purchase.

Mr. MacKenzit has given notice of the following resolution :

That the Government be authorized to enter into an arrangement during the recess with the Grand Trunk Railway Company for acquiring control of the River du Loup branch of the said Company’s line by lease, purchase or otherwise, in order to obtain complete control of the Intercolonial Railway tratlic to the city of Quebee, any such arrangement to be subject to ratification by Parliament at the next ses- sion.
