Some years ago an Historical Society was organized in Charlottetown, and a quantity of valuable material was obtained; but, unfortunately, the Society had lasted only a short time, when it met an untimely end at the hands of its own members. This may be cited agaimst the formation of another such Assvciation ; but if a different plan is adopted with respect to the custody of the documents, manuseripts and other data that may be collected, no doubt a more satisfactory and beneficial result will be obtained.

An association for the collection of historical data respecting this Island, might be formed in connection with the , Natural History Society, now in working order in Charlottetown, and in that way add interest to the meetings of that associa- tion, But if that proposition would not be agreeable to the members of the Natural
