The first hole cut 'l30 feet of core averages 11.06 per ton for a true width of 100 feet, a second hole gave 12.74 across 45 feet of core with true width of 55 feet. The third re- turned 56 feet of ore averaging $10. with true Width of 45 feet.

Pronounced and persistent _ strength 1n the industrial and rail division; of the market yesterday forced the two averages higher. hour by hour and enabled them to close near the best levels of the day in new high territory.

The simultaneous penetration of previous tops by the two averages on voliune supplies a favorable Dow Theory signal. leadership was ag- uui definitely in the steel group but the action of the rails was the best seen in that division for a long time.

The» Metals and the Alrcrafts be- came more active and buoyant as the day progressed, the Aircraft rtocks being particularly in evi- dence at their best prices just prior to the close, the motor stocks 1n general showed firmness but made no striking headway and the utilities WEI‘: neglected, most of them closing tructionally down on the driy.

Additional progress at the outset today would stem to be a logical expectation a: the market senti- ment appears to draw its inspir- ation from the joint factors of the improved outlook for industrial peace and the inflationary ten- dencies in the prospect that mer- chundise prices may be marked up lto provide for the concessions to

TOR/ONTO, March 4 — (OP) _ ‘The mining market price struct- ure was toppled for substantial losses today. all groups feeling the eflect of selling in a. thin buying demand.

Base metal shares fell in with the general downward trend. Hud- son Bay slipped back 1 6-8 to 38, Waite-Amulet lost 35 cents.

Other losses in the group were 20 cents for Pond Orellle, 15 for Sudbury Basin, 15 for Sherrltt, 1-8 for Falconbrldze. and a half point for Noranda.

fore the close. Losses of 10 to 20 cents in the secondary gold group hit Pickle Crow, Macassa. Central Patricia, Chibouga-mau, Kirkland- Hudson Bay ‘and O'Brien. Down 30 cents were Little Long lac end Darkwater.

East Malurtic held a net gain o! 11 cents.

Western oils were up for a time but failed to hold. At the close losses of 20 to 35 cents were show- lng for Calgary-Edmonton, Dal- housle, Home, Okalta and South West Petroleum.
