Vicious Doe.—We hear complaints on account of the many vicious dogs prowling about the city. It is estimated that our town contains abou’ six hundred of these curs, while taxes are paid on less than half that number. The surplus stock could well be disposed of.

Winter Supprres, — There are several Prince Edward Island schooners and Glou- cester fishing craft at the wharves with pota- toes, turnips, butter and fish, but the number is not so great, nor the variety of products as large, as usual at this time of the year. Island potatoes sell at 75 cents a barrel, butter at 18 cents, pick'ed codfish at $4 barrel, and dry fish at $3 50 to $4.—Chatham World.
