Teachers Convention Hold At Mt. Stewart

A teachers‘ local convention was held at Mount Stewart on Tues- day, September 22nd. Mr. Warren McGuil-k presided, The minutes of last year's convention were read by the secretary, Miss Mabel 0'- Brien. The following committees were appointed: Nominating - Teresa McIntyre, Mabel Sinnott, Mary Msclnnis; Resolution —Sis- ter Margaret Marlo. Arthur Mc- Neil, Marie McGulgsn: Question Box - Regina Ryan, Teresa Hen- drlcken; Press - Sister M. Car- lnciits, Sister Clare Theresa.

Supervisor Doiron congratulat- ed the teacbe on the large num- ber present, and remarked that teachers in general show much in- terest in their local conventions. Mr. Doll-on then related some in- teresting points of the Canadian Educational Association Conven- tlon, which he had attended in Fredericton s few days previous. "it was an inspiration and s lift" he said, “and those of us who

continue our work of education". Mr. Doiron then urged the teach- srs to prepare their work care- fully, to make good use of their time-tables. and to be prompt in sending attendance reports. in concluding his remarks, he com- mented on the teacher's sublime vocation and read an inspiring poem in this connection.

being made in the educational field throughout the Province was presented by Dr. L.W. Shaw. He cited several instances where teachers prepare their school- work well and by their enthusi- asm, do much to interest their pupils.
