Under the advice of his counsel, he claimed an adjournment of the case. Meanwhile the ship steamed away with the English- man in dispute confined on board, and the Spanish captain himself a prisoner ashore. The matter has been submitted to the Spanish and Eoglish Governments. It is not likely that those difficulties will amount to much, seeing that Spsin is just now cultivating closer commercial relations with England.
