New Bripeér.—A new railway bridge with stone abutments and iron span is being erected at Five Houses, near St. Peter’s Bay, on the road leading tu Forest Hill. The abutments will take about 300 cubic yards of stone, and the iron span will be 33 feet in length, placed at proper height above the public highway to admit of all kinds of ordinary loads passing under. The work is being performed under the superintendence of James T. Cameron, who, with his brother John, constructed the masonry on *the eastern branch of the P. E. I. Railway.

In Lock. ~The handsome clock which has been on exhibitien in the show window of Newson’s furniture store for several weeks past was disposed of thie forenoon, H. Mc Innis, of THe Examiner, being the winne. There were 1632 beans in the bottle; his guess was 1632. The second nearest the num- ber was Patrick Trainer, who guessed 1625. In all, there were 109 guesses, ranging from 260 to 1x93. The beans were counted by Messrs. White and Murphy, of the Post Office Department, in the presence of several wit- nesses.
