Cemetery thieves have been discovered and will probably be proveeded against. This species of barbarous vandalism must be killed out of the community, even at the expense of injuring the reputations of some of its mene bers. Ghouls and grave robbers must be swept away from the town, and the EXAMINER hopes that the punishment meted out will be suficiently severe to act as an effectual detsrrent.

We do not wish to incessantly carp at the police for the non-fulfilment of their duty.

We simply beg to call their attention to the increasing number of corner loafers in the city. By day the lower corners of Queen | and Water Streets are haunted by a gang of foul-mouthed ‘*‘ vagabonds,” who invariab'y insult ladies and gentlemen. At night the corners of Upper Queen and Grafton Streets | are crowded with a more genteel sort of loafer, who indulges in conduct equally as disgraceful as his brethren below. We hear many remonstrances made, but the police seem powerless to abate the nuisance. We suggest that some of the leaders of both As- sociations be immediately arrested, and that examples be made of them. This matter shoull not be overlooked by the police.
