Resolved, that we, the citizens of Char- lottetown, authorize and request the City Council of this city to send to our fe low- citizens in St, John, the sum of $3.000—to be forwarded immediately.

His Honor the Recorder is said to having, this morning, given it as his opinion that it is questionable, whether the City Council ean, under the law, comply with the re- quest contained in the above resolution.
