The Wartime Prices and Trade Regulations (Order in Council P.C. 8528 of November 1, 1941) established basic period maximum prices for goods and designated services. These regulations were passed under the authority of the War Measures Act and continued in force under the National Emergency Transitional Powers Act, 1945. From time to time these basic maximum prices have been varied or the fixed maximum has been suspended in the case of particular goods and services by Orders issued by the Wartime Prices and Trade Board under the authority of the above Regulations. t A few days ago a sub- stantial number of suspensions from price control was announced.
