—An occasion of great rejoicing to all lovers of woman’s advancement is *he action of the Wyomiug legislators. The unanimous adoption by a body of men, of a resoluticn setting forth the usqualified success vi Woman Suifrage in the past twenty-five years is the strongest endorsement possible Coming just at this time, when the enemies of the tranchise have been demanding a retraction of the privilege, it is an event ol no ordinary significance. Here is the resolution in full; cut it out and send it to every doubting Thomas :—
‘** Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming: That the possession and exercise of suffrage bo the women of Wyome ing fer the past quarter of a century, has wrought vo harm and has done great good in many ways; that it has largely aided in banishing ciime, pauperism and vice from this state and that without any violent or oppressive legislation; that it has secured peaceful and orderly elections, good government and remarkable degree of civilizs tion and public order, end we point with pride to the fact that after nearly twenty-five years of woman suffrage, not one county in Wyom- ing has a poor house, that our jails are almost empty, and crimes, except tha: by strangers in the state almost unknown, and as the result of experience, we urge every civilized com- munity on earth to enfranchise its women without delay.
Resoived, That an authenticated copy ot these resoiutions be forwarded by the ov- ernor of the state to the Legislature of every state and territory in this country and to every legislative body in the world; and that we request the press throughout the civilized world to call the attention of their readers to these resolutions.
Farmers’ Union. The members of the above union, of Lots 45 and 46, having severed their connection with those of Lot 44, through no fault of the former, held their weekly meeting at the Rockbarra Schoolhouse, on Friday evening, 3rd inst. Upwards of fifty members were present, and the first raeet- ing under the new regime was an un qualified success. Mr. Jobn Allan Me- Vonald was delegated to the chair and Mr.
John Alfred McDonald was appointed secretary. An interesting discussion followed.

This is the third death in the famuy within five weeks. The cthers were a son, Ambrose, aged 20, who died of consumption oa the 7th inst. ; aad an infant of tive months who died of meningitis ou the 17th of January. In this trsble affliction the bereaved parents will have much sympathy.—Halifax Re, corder, Feb. 23rd.

PUBLIC OPINION. The Meeting at | Little Pond,
A meeting was held at Little Pond School House on Monday evening, 6th March, iust., to consider the provisions of the Re- served Bill of last session. Notwithstand- ing the short notice given, there was a large attendance. Charlies McDonald Esq., occupied the chair, and Edward A. Me- Donald acted as secretary. J. C. Under- hay, M. P. P., explained the various provi- sions of the bili, showing that the mortgage vote might be used as a means to control and everrule the vote of the people in every district inthe Province, that the disfran- chisement of any portion of the electors by rearrangement of the districts or any other means, without direct instructions from the people, was a power which ao legislature should assume, and if acknowledged by the people might be used at any time to retain in power a party in oppos- ition to the wishes and interests of those who elected them, and that the proposed hiving of Lot 56, DeGros Marsh and Stur- geon was alike uojust to the supporters ef both parties. Mr. J. Nichol followed, strongly con- demning the various provisions of the biil, and pointing out clearly the disadvantage it would be to the people of Lot 56 to be included in the District of Georgetown, and conciuded by moving the following resolu- tion, which was unanimously adopted : Resolved, That the revival of the mort- gage vote, the disfrauchisement of any por- von of the electors, the re-arrangement of the districts for political purposes, or any vther legislation calculated to retain any party in power otherwise than by honestly conducting the affairs of the Province so ss to advance the interests of the people, does not meet with the approval of this meeting. Entertainment at New Perth.
The entertainment at New Perth on Tuesday evening, Feby. 28th, was in every way a decided success. The meeting was presided over by C. Shaw, M. P. P., aud the best uf order prevailed. The schoolroom was sv crowded that several persons were unabie tu obtain admission. The programme consisted of addresses, dialogues, vocal and | instrumental music. Where each did sv weil it is needless to particularize. The perfect order that was maintained during the evening, and therounds of applause that greeted the performers at the ciose of each act clearly demonstrated the appreciation of the audience. The proceeds are to be appropriated towards the building fund ot the New Perth Hal! Co. The young peupie of New Perth are to be congratulated on theic laudable efforts towaid erecting a public hall, and by the talent and abuity displayed on Tuesday evening iast there van be nv doubt as to the success of the enterprise. —UCoM.
