Mechanics’ Institute Soiree.

At a general Committee meeting of ‘the Chatlottctown

Mechanics’ Institute held on Saturday evening, the Ist instant, it was unanimously Resolved, That the a ing session of the year 1857 be inaugurated by a SOIRER, to be held at the Temperance Hall, on TUESDAY, the 2d day of December next. And the members of the Institute are soli- cited to use their best exertions to cause the celebration to be increasingly creditable to the Institution, as was proved by the soiree of last year—and thus continue to enhance the prosperity of the Institute in the ennobling objects of promoting a love for Literature, the Arts and Sciences.

The best Vocal and Instrumental Music will be-procured, and the entertainment will be farther enlivened by a shert lecture and several addresses on interesting topics.

Tickets, 1s. 6d. each, may be had at the several Book-stores, and from either of the undermentioned Committee.
