CELEBRATE YOUR NATURAL SIZE!

Come to the breezeway of Robertson Library on Wednes- day, March 12 1997 between 9:00am and 1:00pm and help the UPEI Home Economics Department and the Women’s Centre celebrate Worry Free Wednesday.

Worry Free Wednesday is a day in which we will allow ourselves to eat whatever we want to without feeling guilty. We want to dispel the myth that there are “good” foods and “bad” foods. All foods can fit into a balanced, healthy diet. There are also no “good” and “bad” body shapes. Everyone is different and we should be enjoying this diversity,

Women today are bombarded by media images of thin, seemingly perfect models. In reality, very few of us can attain this so called physical “perfection”. Many of us spend count- less hours trying. We diet, deprived ourselves of foods we enjoy, and buy large quantities of beauty products, all in hopes of reaching this impossible ideal.

Join with us in the fight against this stereotyped image of females. Learn about the unrealistic standards society has set and the problems these standards are causing. Enjoy some FREE snacks while you do!

Robertson Library Staff Seeking Feedback From Patrons :

“How Are We Doing ?”

The administration and staff of the Robertson Library are looking forward to receiving plenty of comments, suggestions, questions, ideas, kudos, even the odd well-aimed catcall from Library patrons as they inaugurate the new Library Comments Box.

Staff hope that by placing the new Comments Box adjacent to the exit doors they will stimulate a two-way exchange with University faculty, students, staff, and members of the Island community who use the Library. Comments and replies will be posted on a nearby bulletin board for all to see, and patrons who leave a telephone number or e-mail address will hear personally from someone in the Library. Staff are hoping, as well, that Panther Prints will publish some of the exchanges that are of general interest in future

So, next time you are in the Robertson Library, look out for the Comments Box,

and please stop awhile to share your ideas.
