If anyone was not at the concert, but would still like to be a part of the Environmental club, e-mail upeienvclub@hotmail.com and they’ll hook you up with all the environmental happenings on campus. There will even be a special potluck coming up for new members.

“We’re planning on having a big potluck in the near future; once we get back from Vancouver for all the new members — kind of a meet and greet sort of thing. We (also) hold a lot of information sessions (through the year) and movie nights with great documentaries on environmental issues.”

The club’s next major project will include partnering with the UPEI Energy Awareness Committee during Energy Awareness week in mid October. The goal of that week will be to raise awareness about energy consumption, and many other topics, said Willcock.

Ihave a suggestion. If Bono is so worried about the Third World (and itis a horrifying problem) why doesn’t he give his own money away? Think of how much good that would do! Instead of blowing it all on goofy glasses and strange-looking outfits, why doesn’t he take his money and distribute it to AIDS orphans? I can’t think of anybody (except his heirs) who would complain about this. It’s a great way for Bono to put his money where his mouth is.

And as for his friend, Paul Martin? I think Paul should be a little more concerned about taking care of the country he was elected to wisely govern, instead of pandering to a rock star’s whims.

On the other hand, AIDS orphans certainly need the money more than Quebec advertisement agencies. . .
