ALBERTON — Alberton‘s new town council was sworn in last night by Mayor M. Roy Leard. who is beginning his second term

0 f f i c e. Mayor Leard was sworn in several days ago by Town Magistrate Howard Clark.

Charles Gordon, Douglas Rix and Artiiur McRae were mem- bers of the last council while new members are John C. Prof- it, Wesley Hardy and Vernon Hudson.

The mayor and council were elected by acclamation.

Mayor Leard welcomed the council and extended thanks to r e t lr i n g councillors Albert Clarke and Cedric Hunter w ho were present. The remaining member of last year's council. Norman Hardy. is at presen residing in Suinmerside
