Mr. Matheson said this was one of the reasons why the pavement had been extended to that part of the country. The government had given consid- eration to the construction of a new ferry which it was thought would cost $1 million.

Both Mr. Rossiter and Dr. Dewar complained that road markings in their counties were conspicuous by their absence.
