The lecturer introduced his subject by stating the causes from which the war originated. After having reviewed the principal events of that bloody campaign, be related some of his own adventures as a soldier therein. Some of the scenes which be had witnessed. during his career in the battle field, we heart-reading in their nature. The Attorney General, however, thought there was not spy occasion for a meeting being held, as the Government did not require any pushing to make them do what is right and proper. The unanimity that prevailed showed, perhaps more clearly than anything else could, how deeply and strongly the legal profession feel on the sub- subjcct.
