0n Saturday evening December 18th the pupils of Southport School, under the guidance o! their teachers, Misses Gertrude Villett and Helen MscEacltern. presented a most. enjoyable Christ- mas concert.

The music was under the direc- tion of Mr. Frank Johnston, A31‘. C.L. and Mr. Harold MacKie pre- sided as chairman. Santa Claus arrived at intermission and stayed till the end of the programme. de- lighting the children with his singing and speech making. Fudge was sold at intermission and the r-lnidren were treated at the close with iudgsicles by the Women's Institute. /

The teacher, Mrs. George Dixon, was generously remembered by the pupils.

The entertainment closed by singing‘ the National Anthem.

On the evening of December 22. a number of parents and visitors gathered at Fernwood School to en- joy a concert by the pupils of the school.

The school and tree were gally decked in their Christmas attire that radiated the glamouroua atmo- sphere of the Yuletide season.
