IDNDON (AP) - The church- ul government Tuesday dismissed Ru.aia's threat to scrap the 1942 Anglo-Soviet treaty of mutual as- ustance if Britain ratifies the Paris agreements for rearming Wutern Germany.

ENGLEWOOD, N. J. (AP)- Alexis Thompson, 43-year-old steel fortune heir and ex-owner of the Philadelphia Eagles professional football team, was found dead Mon- day a few feet from the phone in his apartment.

Police said he apparently had suffered a heart attack and groped for the telephone to call for aid. Before he could reach it, he crumpled up in the hallway of his luxurious apartment. ' .

The December meeting of the l-lampshlre W. I. was held at the home of Mrs. Ralph Younker. The meeting was opened by singing the Ode and repeating the Creed. There were 1'! members present and roll call was answered by exchanging "Secret Pal” Christmas gifts. There were 14 visitors at the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted. several of the members made their program booklets and the remainder were asked to complete theirs before the next meeting. A very fine example was the booklet made by Alice Edwards. Reports of the sick and school committees wane heard and bills of 31.51 for Sick and Eric for school were'paid. also 81.58, 91.78 and 31.66, bills pertaining to card parties, were paid. Proceeds from the card parties wane 013.16 and 13.30. Ten dollars was received for the use of the hall for the "Potato Plebiscite" and 315.00 for scrub- bing the school

The annual "Parcel Post Sale" then took place and the sum of 31550 was received from this sale.
