The marrlace took place yester- day at 1.30 at St. James Church o! Nora Jean, only daughter of itirs. G. Holsey Hooper and the late Mr. Hooper of Charlottetown. to George Victor BILFIDII, son of Dr. G. Victor Burton, of Yarmouth. ll. S. Rev. T. H. Bussell Somers of- ficiated. The wedding music was played by Miss Lillian MacKcnzc and Mrs. Winston Langille of Truro. N. 5., the groom's cousin was soloist. Standards of snapdragon and white iris were arranged in the church for the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother. Mr. Graharr Hooper and subtended by Miss Heather MacDonald. of Halifax. as maid of honor, with Miss Helen Nichols. of Truro. N. S. and rlics Alice Trites of Salisbury, N. B., as bridesmaids. The groomsman was Mr. Paul Burton, of Yarmouth. N 5.. the grooms brother. The ushezs were Mr. Bensonu Auid, Mr. James Palmer. Mr. Gordon Wellner. and Mr. Sam Robison, all of Charlotte- town.

The bride wore a gown of iv r satin with shoulder insert and front panel of lace. The fitted bo- dice had long sleeves which ended in points or embroidered lace and the bouffant skirt fell into a slight train. A corona-t of seed pearls and lilles-of-the-valley held her fail length veil of tulle in place. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses.

Her three attendants wore gowns of white embroidered Swiss or- gandy wnith fitted bodices, full gathered skirts over white satin Her "maid of honor who wore a white organdy gown embroidered with blue flowers, carried a Cot- onlal nosegay of forget-me-noi... Her headdress was a band of blue fio-wers.

The bridesmaids‘ dresses wcr; embroidered vdth pink and blue flowers. They wore bands of matching flowers in their hair and carried nosegays of pink snap- dragon.

The bride's mother wore a dusk; pink dress. matching straw hat and black accessories. Her cor-sage was of white roses.

Mrs. Burton chose a two-piece turquoise and blank taffeta dress. with which she wore a black strn-u hat and black accessories. She vivore a cox-sage of pink roses.

Following a reception held at Stanhope Beach Inn Mr. and Mrs.

urton left on a wedding trip. For travelling the bride wore s. chad.- reuse “vlobl suit, a hat of natura‘ straw trimmed with flowers and beaver tan accessories.

Mr. and‘ Mrs. Burton are grad- uates of Acadia University. Wolf- vllle, N. B. They will spend the summer in Yarmouth, N. B. This winter they will live in Montreal where Mr. Burton is in his final year in medicine at McGill Uni- versity.

MONCTON, June 28 - Further changes in ‘summer train service for the convenience of tourists travelling to the Maritimes were announced today by Frank L. Dou- gait, general passenger agent. Father Francis Gleeson, SJ. who preached two missions in the Catholic churches here was called back to Boston. sooner than ex- pected imd left early Monday morning. Father Gleeson was born in Boston. Mass... and first visited the Island ten years ago when he conducted a retreat for the clergy.

A runaway horse caused con- siderable excitement in Bristol last week. Two small children were sent to the store two miles away amd on the return home one “wheel came off the wagon and the scared horse began its wild dash don-n the highway. turning the wagon over: the children were thrown out on the pavement as the maddened animal raced for a. mile kicking the wagon to splinters and cutting one of its feet severly. Mr. Owen Sinnott. taking a wild chance brought the steed to a halt. and later sent it home. The two child- ren were unhurt but received quite a fright and their parcels were tore.
