We all know that the water lev- els in our wells are lowering, this, being due to the fact that may much of our land has been denud-i cd of trees. allowing all the moLs-' ture in the form of snow or rain to

evaporate too quickly in the spring.

In planting trees. remove tho sod and dig the hole wide and

deep enough so that the roots are in the hole. cover with soil and

resembles coarse cornmeal Sprinkle over apples and pat smooth with back of spoon. Bake in moderate over 375 degrees F 40 minutes. or until apples are ten- der and the crust is crisp and lightly browned. Serve warm with cream or. for a special touch, ice cream. serves 6-8.
