The women’s basketball team exhibition season ran their pre-season record to a perfect 6-0 against the rest of the country. They recorded three wins at the Dal Subway Centen- nial Basketball Tournament over the weekend. The Panthers were led by tournament all-star Eiranne Rigby. The fifth year Arts student scored 10 points during a 61-46 win over Ottawa, 10 points during a 95-57 blitzing of Wilfred Laurier and 27 points along with 27 rebounds during a 82-72 win over the Brock Badgers. Eiranne is a strong two-way player who shows i leadership for the winning Panthers both on and off

Male Athlete of the Week David Mitchell,Men’s Hockey

The men’s hockey team suffered a tough 2-1. loss to Moncton in OT Saturday night. The excellent goaltending of 3rd year Arts student David Mitchell gave the hockey Panthers the opportunity to challenge for the win. David finished with 35 wins on the night, including 23 over the final 42 minutes. David has played very well his last three games and is therefore a reat choice for UPEI Male Athlete of the Week.
