I write often about the great value to health of eating a good breakfast. a breakfast which. in addition to cereal, toast, fruit and a beverage, should include some animal protein food-meat. egg, fish or milk. The addition of the protein food enables the individual to continue his work right. through to the noon hour. where as a breakfast without some pro- tein usually means a tired feeling about 11 A. M.

One of the reasons that we should eat breakfast before going to work is that food in the stom- ach sitmulates movement of the stomach walls which. in turn, sti- ulate the small intestine into which the stomach empties. Dragstcdt and his as- sociated. University of Chicago. in Proceedings of the Society for Ex- perimental Biology and Medicine. This lends suppory to the theory proposed by the English scientist J. S. Edkiri-3. The gaslrin is thought to arise in the antrum. the bottom part of the stomach. Just how the lower part of the stomach causes the abundant flow of gastric juice is not known, The gastrin is thoucht to arise in the antrum and be taken into the blood streams. Through the blood it stimulates the glands in me other part of the stomach and causes the increased flow of stom- ach digestive Juice.
