Although scattered ralnstorms put a damper on much of the usual summer holiday activity, the last uleek-end of July brought at least 1g accidental deaths in Eastern Canada, along with one slaying.

A silrvey by the Canadian Press shows that there were eight acci- denial deaths in Quebec and I0 in Ontario. ‘Ilhc one violent death also was in Ontario. Eight per- sons drowned. six died in traffic

accidents and four from other accidental causes. A sudden storm which broke

OTTAWA. July 27 —(CPl— Purchase of dressed poultry in Canada by the British Ministry of Food is being temporarily discontinued pending settlement of Britain's import program, bhe Agriculture Department laid today.
