There are in this story we ex- amples of concentration. Jesus h self wishes to conserve his strength for the main purpose of his ministry. which was that of preparing intensively those who would carry the good news to others. He had more than once expressed his approval of the single-hearted.

The wonder of his life is that in so short a time and among so few people he achieved so much. and made such provision as to ensure that what he had begun would not cease after his departure. It was due to this power of concentration on what was essential that the in- ner circle of his dlscipies were ready, when the supreme test Came. to take up the task for -which he had prepared them.

But the woman in the story had the same zest for the one thing she felt to be urgently necessary; the same spirit of complete con- centration as she sought the bless- ing for her daughter. MRS. FULTON DOUGLAS

The death of Mrs. Fulton Doug- las of savage Harbor on February 14th. has saddened the community in which she lived. Although Mrs. Douglas had been In failing health for a considerable time. her pass- ing carnc unexpectedly and was a great shock to her family and friends. she was the daughter of the late Mrs. John MacGreg0l' of Morell and since her marriage to Mr. Douglas in June 1920 she had resided at Savage Harbor. A woman of a lovable personality. high principles and strong sym- pathies and a great friend to those in need. her passing is deep- ly mourned by a host of friends who will always keep her memory green.

she leaves to mourn besides her husband. one daughter Miriam -and three sisters. Miss Eliza Mac- Gregor. Savage Harbor; Mrs. Chas. Conway. Boston; and Mrs. D. Mac- Ewcn. Mt. Stewart. Two sisters and -one brother predeceased lier several years ago. Her funeral was held from St. John's United Church on February lsih. and conducted by her pastor Rev. T. W. Mercer. who paid high tribute to her life and character. and spoke comforiingly lo the bereaved. In- terment was in Mt. Stewart Cem- etery. Pall bearers were: Wilfred Coffin. James Morrison.
