Mr. Isaac Sellers, of Union Road, who paid their accounts in 1891. Mr. Sellers paid an indebtedness of $49.22 with $34.20, getting a reduction of 42 per cent., while Mr. Martin had to pay $226.51 in paying off an indebtedness of $258.39, the reduction being only 12 per cent. and Mr. Martin was compelled to pay a very large amount of compound interest. Mr. Ferguson was frequently interrupted by the Peters gang. But at the conclusion uf the meeting he proposed three cheers for Blake and Stewart, which were enthu- siastically given. Three cheers were call- ed for Peters and Cummiskey, but the weakness of the response showed the feel- ing of the meeting. Stanhope will give a large majority for Blake and Stewart.

St. John has never seen so large and imposing a funeral as that of Lientenant- Governor Boyd. The procession, though formed four deep, was three-quarters of a mile in length.

The popular impression is that Judge Fraser will be appointed as Gov. Boyd’s successor.

The National Trotting Association.

New York, Dee. 8.

The Board of Reviews of the National Trotting Association yesterday considered a number of cases. John Mahinx, of Stan- stead, Quebec, was permanently reinstat- ed; John E. McCoy, St. John, who had been temporarily reinstated, was perman- ently reinstated. In the case of Johm Mc- Leod, of Richmond, Quebec, for alleged falsifying of the time record of Gypsy Maid, it was decided to be 2.293, as ap- nounced by the judge.

ashore onthe south side of Nasheivena Island. On getting off she leaked badly, and went ashore on Nasheiyena. She

hails from Nova Scotia and has a cargo of sugar and molasses from the West Indies for Boston.
