BURRYPORT. Wales, June 18.- The trans-Atlantic monoplane Friendship remained at Burryport tonight. Miss Amelia Earhart. Wil- mer Stultz. and Louis Gordon. the fliers. said they hoped to fly to Southampton tomorrow.

BURRYPORT. Wales, June 18.-- The first woman ever to cross the Atlantic ’ Ocean In an airplane and the two men who aided her in the crossing, tonight sought o. well- earned repose in this little Welsh town. Today, shortly after noon. Miss Earhart of Boston. with Wil- mer Stultz, pilot, and Louis Gor- don. landed their tri-motored mono- plane Friendship in Burryport, completing in 20 hours and 49 minu- tcs the flight from Trepassey Bay. N. F. Tomorrow they will fly the Friendship to Southampton which they missed by flying about l0 milcs too far northwest.

But tonight sleep and sleep only. really mattered, and the fliers, three tired and weary human beings were taking advantage of Wales‘ quiet to get just that. It was shortly after noon that watchers on the Welsh

Death Of F. H. Markey

The late Mr. Markey was born in Bath. England, in 1870. He came to Montreal in the early nine- ties and was admitted to the bar in 1895. He became a K. C. in 1906.
