McDonald and Gordon Unanimously | Chosen—Over 100 Delagates Pre- sent—flrom Little Pond to Murray Harbor North.

At a large and representative meeting « f delegates held here today, the old members, McDonald and Gordon, were unanimously chosen to contest this district at the forth- coming election, The meeting was called to order. On motion of Hon. A. J. Me- Donald the Hon, Clow was elected Chairman and the undersigned Secretary.

Hon. D. Gordon being called upon, came forward and gave the doings of the Peters’ Gtovernment in such @ cleat style that he was repeatedly cheered, and judging from the enthusiasm his election is assured,

Hon. A.J.McDonald was the next speak - er. He scored the Peter’s government for their “extravagant and reck’ess way of managing publie business and time and again was cheered. The question now rests how much will McDonald’s majority be, some delegates saying it would be up in the thousands,

J.C. Underhay, B-q., of Bay Fortune, being called upon gave oue of his old time ringers, scoring the present governmeut for their reckless extravagance and “mud machines” saying he had never travelled over worse roade 10 a]l his life than he did today.

On motion of J.C. Underhay, Esq., of Bay Fortune, seconded by Pius Flanagan, Eeq., Royalty, that Hon. D. Gordon be one of our candidates to contest this district at the fourth-coming election, Carried.

On motion of William Reid, Erq, Murray Sarbor North, seconded by Capv. John Hemphill, Burnt Point, that Hon. A. J. McDonald be one of our candidates to contest this district at the forthcoming election. Carried after ringing speeches from George McDonald, Esq., Jobn Howlett, Esq., Annandale; William Keid, Esq., Daniel McKinnon, Eeq.. Murray Harbor North; Roderick McLeilan, Hugh A. McPhee, St. Georges, and a jot of others, The meeting was brought to a close bey a vote of thanks being tendered The meeting broke up
