Clyde River Notes

Road making is the all important work in Clyde River at present. Quite a number of men are being employ- ed each day. A smooth, broad‘ high- way will no doubt be the result of their labor.

We are glad to know that Mrs. Frank Gillispie who has been indis- posed is reeling quite well again.

The exterior of the Clyde River school is to be painted in the near future. This, together with a. sign board, splendily done by Mr. Golden Barrett, Kingston, will add greeatly to the appearance of the school. We understand that the present teacher, Mr. Miliar McFadycn, has consented to remain for another term.

Convention Meets

MONCION, June I8 — The annual convention of the Nova Scotia Me- dical Association opened yesterday at Pictou Lodge, a seaside resort on the Strait of Northuinberland near Pictou, Nova. Scotia. owned and 0D- erated by the Canadian National Railways. This convention marks the opening of this outstanding seaside resort of the Maritime Provinces, which is made up of individual rus- tic log cabins or bungalows surround- ing s central or main lodge and de- signed after the famous Jasper Park Lodge.‘ in Jasper National Park Can- adian Rockies.

The first day of the convention was marked by n special golf tourney, and the annual meeting of the Me- dical health officers association.
