A Srraxce Disease.—The natives of a tribe on the Congo are afilicted with a strange disease, which is carrying them off rapidly. The fiest symptom is an uncontrollable desire to sleep. . Hatirax, Dee. 4. he liquor war in this city is becoming more interesting. This morning, Ross and McKay, the two informers who have been supplying evidence for the Law and Order League were arrested, charged with con- spiracy to obtain violation of the liquor license act of 1886 and with unlawfully participating ithe sale of intoxicating liquors. They were arraigned, pleaded not

guilty and were remanded till to-morrow.

Captured and Recaptured.'

Lonpon, Dec. 4, Advices from Cape Town state that on Nov. Sth the Portuguese seized Mutacas Kral and hauled down the British flag hoisting the

Portuguese flag in its place. A detachment of the British South African Company's

police subsequently drove the Portuguese out out of the place and captured two leaders, The prisoners were conveyed Fort Salisbury. rhe police replaced the British flag.

Danpury, Conn., Dec. 4. The lockout of trimmers, which paralyzed the whole hatting industry of Danbury the past two weeks, was broken last midnight. The consummation was achieved by conces- sions on both sides.
