Some persous say this ground is not tenable; because the man killed knew when he bought the liquor that he was buying a poison which had killed men, and took his chance on his own responsibility. But in the case of sick men and women, buying liquor as a medicine, and getting adulterated stuff, there is uo doubt aboat the matter ; and veodors who adulterate the liquors they sell do it at the peril of their lives.
