Addresses ‘ery suitable to the occasion were delivered by the Chairman, Messrs. J. T. Mellish, W. Hea d and Judge Hensley. An admirable letter was read (enclosing fifty dollare) from Jalge Young. Several pieces of music were rendered by the choir, and the whole service was of a hiuhly interesting character.

Mr. Dougald Currie, also of West River, brought in a porker which weighed 713 lbs. Both were from the “une litter, their joint weight being 1570 jounds. ‘Thos. E Murphy, of South Shore, Lot 65,aleo brought in a porker which, killed at the age of a year and nine months, tipped the seales at 733 pounds, These enormous prkers retlected great credit upon those who produced then. The grit press pub'ished a document alleged to have been issued bv the G. P. R., ordering their men to vote Government under pain of dismissal Van Horne says it is forgery, and that employes can vote as they please.

Another grit febrication is that Archbishops Fabre and O'Brien have been diciplined for recent utterances and that complaints are in their way to Rome. Archbishop Fabre denies the story.
