The funeral lInCIEl'-the direction of ND. Macho.-an was held on May 18 from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Squires. where a short service was con- ducted by Rev. W. N. Byers. Her remains were tenderly borne to Brltol United Church where Rev. Mr. Byers preached the funeral sermon and spoke words of com- fort to those who mourned, basing his message on the words. "That I. Saint was called to Heaven."

The hymns sung at the house were: "All the Way my Saviour Leads Mn"; nt the church, “Tlic Lords My Shepherd", “Safe In the Arms oi Jesus", "Forever With the Lord". Burial took place in West St. Peter‘: Cemetery.

Service at the grave was con- ducted by Rev. Mr. Byers and Rev. Mr. Macbeod.

Before giving his final adjudic- ation of the Festival. West R.oyalty‘s production of ‘Hans Brinker" also received high praise, expeclally for the production end. Prof. shew thought the simple set was very well planned. the properties excellent, and the cos- tumes and make-up entirely satis- factory. Mrs. Gwynneth Patterson, president of the Charlottetown Lit- tle Theatre. acted as chairman for the afternoon performance.

Evening Performance

Speaking of Montague‘: produc- tion of “The Feminine Touch," the adjudicator stated he had thor- oughly enjoyed this light comedy. and found it entirely suitable for the final play of the Festival. "The lines are clever and quite slick," he said, “and could quite easily have been spoiled by inexperienced play- ers."

Prof. Shaw agreed with the dir- ectors. Mrs. Douglas McGowan and Gilbert Clcmeiits, who had modified the set; from the script. and said he found their interpretation of the play. emphasizing the comedy as- peci. Just the right touch. He found the tempo quite good, but though‘. the cast was sometimes a little slow on cues. and sometimes movements on the stage were rather awkward.
