SUMMERSIDE — The preli- minary hearings into the man- slaughter charge against Earl Joseph Brennan. Sea Cow Pond. and the criminal negligence charge against his brother, Don- ald Joseph Brennan were com- pleted yesterday before Magis- trate W. Chester S. MacDonald.

The charges were laid as a re- sult of the eat of a North Cape fisherman. Roy Hackett. whose body was found Oct. 7 at the home of Vernon McCarthy. Sea Cow Pond.

Stewart Berry of the Summerside police force had white enamel paint thrown on it. causing considerable dam- age. Thursday night in Summerside two cars belonging to members of the RCAF station were brok- en into and grey paint was thrown on the outside. One car. a sports model. had‘ a bucket seat torn apart.

Cnst. Cameron saw a body lying on the ground in front of a truck. Dr. Hellmich pronounc- ed him dead and the body was identified as that of Roy Hack- ett by his brother Marvin. at the scene, the police officer testified.

Cnst. Cameron told of taking several samples of articles at the scene and taking them to the RCMP crime detection lab- oratory in Sackville. N.B.
