It was moved and seconded that $5.00 be given to each school for the purchasing of necessities at the beginning of the new term.

Mrs. Bell was asked to prepare a five minute talk to be delivered at the district convention at Long Creek A re=olution was also pre- pared regarding "improved meth- ods cf Education", to be presented The secretary was requested to ob- tain niaterial for quilt if suitable material was available .

The collection for the Salvation Army Campaign was left to the teacher and pupils of each school. A committee was appointed to have the Cornwall honour roll fra- med. also to prepare a. program- me for its unveiling at a future date During on interesting dis- cussion on methods of raising funds many practical suggestions were made; however. it was decided that there be a collection of $1.00 from each member to meet the present needs of preparing over- seas soldier boxes

Mr. McCormac is a son o! Mr. and Mrs. George J. MeCormsc of Albany, P.E.I., formerly of Char- lottetown and St. Georges.

Mr. McCormac ls a former Charlottetown boy and during the past number of years owned and operated Cousins (Nfld.) Limited St. John's, Newfoundland, the larg- est dry cleaning plant in Britain's oldest Colony.

Mr. McCormae is well known 1n business and commercial circles in the Marltimes, as for seven years he represented the well known firm W. H. Schwartz 6a Sons Ltd, “Canada's oldest cof- fee and spice house". He left the Schwartz organization in the fall of 1929 to Join Cousins Ltd, Hall- fax, NS, eastern Canada's lead- lng_dry cleaning and laundry or- ganization as sales and service manage!‘- He went to Newfound- land the following spring as man- ager of the Cousins branch in the city of St. Johns. A few years later he bought out and took over control of their Newfoundland in- terests and developed it into one of tile outstanding plants in the iYIdUSiTY- He became a member

o the National Association of Dry Cleaners and Dyers of the United States and Canada and

also a member of the National Laundry and Dry Cleaning Re- search Council of Canada. Mr. McCol-mac disposed of his dry cleaning interests in Newfound- Innd last January.

The regular monthly meeting of the Ebenezer Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. John A. MacDonald on Wednesday even- ing Sept. 6, 1944. Roll call was a swered by a collection which n-

ounted to 50c. One member paid her fee. There were eight mem- bers present.

Correspondence consisted of s letter from the chairman of Sul- vatlon Army Campaign and it was decided that the Institute donate $10.00 and to get some of the school children to collect the dis- trlct for this worthy cause.

It was moved and seconded, that the articles of clothing left from the rummage sale be gathered up and sent to the Greek Relief Fund at once.
