Dear Sir:

Last year, the girls claimed we .

guys were slow. Iam referring par- ticularly to the Winter Carnival Ball.

This year. the tables are turned. Now it is the girls who are slow, horrifying slow in regards to the Co—Ed dance. What the hell is the matter with them? Why in Christ don’t they get off their derrieres?

Are they afraid of us? Are they afraid to take a chance on 'us? Why? Most of us guys are just dying to be asked but no girls seem to be around to do the asking. ‘ I thought the feeling of apathy - and I hate to use this word, but I must - had begun to disappear from campus life but it seems that it is still with us. The general census among upper classmen is that this year’s crop of freshettes is definitely superior to last year’s as far as gen- eral appearance is concerned. How— ever, as far as daring or initiative are concerned, they are dead as hell. I am thoroughly fed up with their “I-I olier - than - thou” attitude and I do wish they would get down off

So come on girls. Get off your butts. Talk and lister to your fel- low male students. We’re not really that bad when you get to know us.

I am not sure whether or not you

wrote your letter thinking you mi- ght get a reply, but you’re-going to get one anyway.

First of all I must thank-you for saying that this year’s crop of fresh- ettes is superior to last year’s. But as for the fact of the “Holier- than- thou” attitude, I think you’re mis- taken .

I don’t know you and I have never seen you, but all I can say is that when you were a freshman weren’t you a little bit scared. Be- sides how much practice has a girl had in asking a guy out. Especially in a place where she knows only a few people.

Personally I think the freshettes did very well at asking fellows con- sidering this is their first year here and most of them don’t have ‘a steady boyfriend.

When freshettes enter a University they are defeated before they get here. They came in with the idez that they’re the smallest people on the campus, an idea propogated by the upper-classmen. Who likes being in this situation? So they try to carry themselves as upper-classmen and this could be where you get the “Holier - than- thou attitude”
