FALL LECTURE SERIES IN SUMMERSIDE

The Natural History Society, in conjunction with the Island Nature Trust, is pre- senting an evening lecture series based on the interactions between man and nature on P.E.I. Entitled “All the Living Things', the six week program will run on Thursday evenings from Sept.22 to Oct. 27. Presentations are to be held in the Eptek Center and will begin at 7:30 p.m. Coordinator of the series is Rosemary Curley. The speakers and topics are listed below:

Sept. 22 - Images from the Past: A Legacy for our Children - Daryl Guignion.

Sept. 29 - The Piping Plover: HelpfbranEndangered Species - Winifred Cairns.

Oct. 6 — Changes in P.E.I. Birdlife over Five Centuries - Geoff Hogan.

Oct. 13 - Mammals Come and Go ~ Rosemary Curley.

Oct. 20 — Every kind of plant that bears seed — Betty Howatt

NATURE ART SHOWS

Canadian Nature Art 1982/83. This exhibition of outstanding works by Canadian nature artists will be on display in the Eptek Center in Sumnerside, Sept. 28 to Oct. 15. The show, co-sponsored by the Canadian Nature Federation and the National Mus- eum of Natural Sciences, is currently winding up a cross-Canada tour. Don't miss this chance to see top—notch nature art right here on Prince Edward Island.

The Wild Side of the Isle. A showing of 25 selected nature photographs will be on display at the Eptek Center in Summerside from Oct. 17 to Nov. 6. Sponsored jointly by the P.E.I. Natural History Society and the Island Nature Trust, the exhibit will feature a broad spectrum of the wild creatures and places on Prince Edward Island. Exhibition organizers Geoff Hogan and Dan McAskill are hoping for a strong show of support from art lovers and naturalists across the province.

BIRD LIFE OF P.E.I. This six-week course on bird idehtificatibn.is being offered By the U.P.E.I. Extension Department. The course runs from Sept. 21 to Oct. 26 for 2% hours each Wednesday evening. The instructor is Geoff Hogan, and the fee is $30.

ISLAND NATURE TRUST. The next public meeting of the Island Nature Trust will be held on Oct. 20. Watch the media for details of time, place, and topic.

CANADIAN NATURE FEDERATION REGIONAL MEETING. The annual fall meeting of the Can— adian Nature Federation and its Atlantic region affiliates will be held in Charlotte- town on Sat., Oct. 22. The morning sessions will be devoted to the Piping Plover, its current plight, and the consideration of management options aimed at improving
