The planning of a tobacco field day by the provincial agriculture department is the prelude, ap- parently, to a stepped-up pro- motional program that could produce the 1,000 acres of tobac- co and something more than $500,000 in new farm revenue to this province that was predict-- ed for me recently by the soils and crops committee of the pro- vincial agricultural council:

The field day is being planned for the second week in Septem- ber, I am told and details of time and place will be announc- ed jJater. For the most part, I understand, the main effort is aimed at interesting new grow- ers: and that is necessary if the optimistic tobacco outlook is go- ing to become a reality: =
