Not only are there not many stations to choose from, the few that there are all seem to show the same amount of lack of taste and seem to be tot- ally absorbed by be—bop bubble gum music. There is quite a void left that- could.be easily filled by the universities radio station. V

One of the main problems with CSUR, found at 700

on your A.M. dial, is that it can't be picked up once you are farther'than one hundred yards from the University. Reception in the new residence wasn't even possible till this week.,If one is within the limited distance though,- they will find that the radio station is doing some very innovative things this year, though the majority of the pro-, graming is the same as you would get on any local station. »

One of the things worth taking note of is a six ' hour blues program every Mondayxnight between six and twelve.:Blues have beal played on CSUR on rare oc- casions in the past, but never have they had a reg- ular time for such as pre- W sentation. The show is handled by Kip Puia and Brian Kingston and known

CSUR has also made an at- tempt to carry more stu— dent affairs over the air. Every away football and hockey game will be broad- castéd by the radio sta— tion./In addition they have set up a campus news

as the Double K production.

The station is also work- ing with an exchange sys4 tem with other stations. Any special shows of interh est, by other stations will_ be played on CSUR, such as the hour long special they had two Saturdays ago on immigration.

CSUR has live programs between 8:00 p.m. and 12:00

p.m. every day with taped

shows between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.. In the event that a D.J. doesn't show up, a tape of One of his past shows will be played. _The majority of the time is Irogramed, though they can still use anybody with‘ some good ideas who would like to-work for the sta- tion.‘ ‘ -

A late note:

I would just to make mention of Mia Andersons' performance this evening of Ten Women, Two Men and A, Moose. It was a brilliant \ display of excellent acting “from a wonderful selection of Canadian Peetry and Prose. "

The play, having not been attended by a large number of people, led to a beautiful intimacy between the actress and the aud- iance.
