Councillor: Hughes gave notice that at the next meeting of Council he would move fur a reconsideration of the resolu- tion passed respecting the telephone to the residence of the Stipendiary Magis- trate.

Mayor Dawson then took up the resolu- tion providing that the Council appro- priate no moneys excepting for regular ani legitimate city purposes, and upon which the Council steod four to four the previous evening. He said that while his sympathies were with the resolution, afier considering the matter from all sides he felt disposed to give his casting vote with the nays. He therefore declared the reso- lution lost.
