During World War II the RCAF‘ expanded into the fourth largest air force of the allied powers, reaching a peak of 215.000 personnel. Canadian atrmen flew with distinction on many fronts. winning 8.000 d corations. However. the cost was high: more than 17.000 air force members gave their lives.
