Admitted to the Prince Ed— ward Island Hospital, where they were taken by MacLean's ambulance. they were placed under the care of Dr. T.A. Laid- law.

Examination re ve a led that Willard had suffered a cut the forehead and a shaking up. Following treatment he was re- leased to his home. James was found to have a severe lacera- tion on the side of the head and a slight skull fracture, and was detained in hospital. The boys are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon MacLennan, 22 Brack- ley Road, Sherwood.

Earlier the group had been sliding on a sheet of ice which had formed in the bottom of the pit, but tiring of sliding the boys had then turned to a game chase.

Apparently the two MacLen- nan brothers had decided to try to climb up the face of the p it and when nearing the top. which is more than 50 feet, the pit face crumbled and the pair tumbled to the ,bottom.

On arrival of this vehicle it was found that it was impossi- ble to take it into the pit, due to the recent spell of mild wea- ther having caused the bottom of the haul road to fall out.

Only excess water over demand from the Malpe- que station goes into the tank.
