tough body punches. Carr fighting defensively was caught with a couple of hard lefts in the first heat. The Island boy Came back to win the second round on his knockdown but Graham again started to score in the third set- ting up the stage for his k ockout victory in the fourth as he knock- ed his opponent flat with a couple of terrific left hands that had kayo written all over them.

In the Mills-Gallant slugfest, Gallant came back up off the canvas in the third heat after be- ing down for a nine count and then failing to toke a count on his second trip to the deck to win by a technical kayo after knock- 111s Mills down just ~at the bell of the same round. The boys wasted little time in getting down to busi- ness in the first round as they Dusted each other with rights and iarts in the even battling.

Gallant started to score heavily with right hand waiiops in’ the second heat with Mills retaliating towards the close with rights and lofts. The third saw both boys hit the deck but in the fourth Gallant took over omplete ‘ ‘ as he withstood Mills’ counter attacks. Mills was practically out on his feet at the bell and his handlers wisely throw in the towel to save their fighter further punishment.

Led by Sonny Stull who notched three counters during the engage- ment, Knotty Nlners last night opened the Midget Hockey League by skating to a 5-3 victory over Canadians in a hard-fought tus- sle played at the Saint Dunstans University rink.
