Dear Editor:

In concern to the letter

written by the "disgusted islanders" let me say this. There is nothing any better or worse here than in Montr- eal oraany of the other big, cities, just simply differ- ent. My suggestion to you is not-to take everything you hear quite so seripusly. Both types ofrplaces have something very special to Offer so neither one should be degraded. Your letter -; told us how we shouldn't

be telling you how to enjoy life; well don't tell us how to~either. I would i

be very intereSted to know if you have ever been to Montreal. ‘ . ‘

You also made reference . to people fromlcertainvoth— er colleges. I got the distinct impression that the majority of your letter was digging at a few of us who once went to Vanier College. Those of us who once attended Vanier enj- oyed those years because we contributed to the. I school‘life in some'wav. Now that.we are at UPEI we tog». make! eerie. co- ntribution here and So far we fell,that we have hel— ped in some small way.. Islanders are-nice people and the peopleIWho wrote this letter had no right to Sign it the way that they did. Real Islanders are far too friendly to criticize something like that. So what do you say you stop the garbage thr~ owing and pitch in and help us make yours and our University something to be really proud of.

It was quite obviOusly a female who wrote the article about the "JOCKS" Look girls ...why don't you speak to some of the athletes. They'd app-. You'd like it from home.‘ '

Another point is, that as far as the episode that took place in the cafeteria, 99% of which I witnessed, I'm disappointed in whoever wrote

the article because she did

'not get the story straight.

Nothing-was done to the-girl and not one obscene word was uttered. It only goes to‘/ show how jealous some of the unnoticed girls can get.

But writing an article like the one you did will not bring

you any attention.

I'd like to know where the spirit of going to University disappeared to. There used to be a time when harmless

pranks were lbved by one and

all. C'mon girls, if we all

went around as sober looking

as some of you do, no one

would have.any‘fun or for ‘that matter go to University at all.
