A Sixeciar Accipent.,— A singular ac- cident happened on the Newfoundland railway, near Bay of Islands recently, according to an exchange. The regular express train while proceeding to Sr. Jehn’s ran overa herd of deer. The deer is credited with being ab'e to scent danger many miles awav, yeteleven deer lying on a failway track were mangled to piec’s where they had been sleeping. This is a singular coincidence ard can only be ac- counted for from the fact that deer which can be seen daily feeding, near by the line cf railway are accustomed tothe noise of the train. These animals mu-t bave heard the train before its approach, especially as they were all on the rails.
