Welcme back! We hope you have enjoyed a happy holiday and that we face a most successful sem— ester, scholastically and athletically. We're not certain which should have precedence but” will wish for both.

We have just canpleted a rapid compilation and find that, in what might be tented First Semester sports, (football, soccer and field hockey) we won 3, lost 15 and tied l for an overall average of .184. In what might be loosely designated as Second Semester activities, (hockey and basketball) we are at the manent 13—7—0 , (these figures are league play), for an average of

Now, although we like and admire all part— icipants of the first- mentioned category, we must admit we were be- ginning to run out of reasons in excusing our lack of success and will make a final comment that lady Luck was certainly elusive. We are pleased to be able to start off 1980 with hopes of ecstatic reports of victories! Wasn't it a shame that, in the last weekend of play in 1979 and after all those doleful reports of losses, when we won all games there was no issue of the SUN!

Our Lady Basketball Panthers now boast a 6-0 record in league play with most of their games having been played on the road. They have outscored their league opponents 438—281 and they appear to be well an their way to duplicating last season's mark of no defeats in their own class. It should also be remarked that they have, in their e>d'u'.biticn games, - beaten the St. F.X. girls, who are in third place in the reputedly stronger section.
