A tax-swelling surge in the econ- omy has pulled the indicated budget deficit down to 351,700,000 from the i80.000.000 forecast and from the 3100,000.000 forecast and of the 1954-55 year.

The figures for the current year that ends March 31 were given in a white paper tabled in the Com- mons by Finance Minister Harris in advance of his tax-setting budget to be presented to the House Tuesday night.

The white paper shows buigset revenues for the year at 34. .- 400,000-second only to those of two years ago-and expenditures of 34.487.100.000, exceeded only in the war years.

REVENUE RISES

The revenue figure was up by 3262.000.000 from I954-55 and bet- tered by S18.'l.000.000 Mr. Harris' forecast in his budget of last spring. in which he cut personal and corporation income tax rates.
