ALBERTON — Alberton Fire Chief Herbert Leavitt said yes- terday the last three fire calls have been to flue fires with two in one day.
Very little material damage resulted from these fires “ne- vertheless had they not bee it discovered in time the loss of a home would have been a cer- tainty," he said.

Word was received here last week of the sudden death in De- troit, Michigan, of Leonard Mac- Donald, formerly of Antigonishp N.S. and Glenfinnan, P.E.I. ‘
At the time of his death Mr. MacDonald was working on al construction project. The earth! gave way and he was trapped in the cave‘in.
Mr. MacDonald was the step- son of Mrs. Anita MacDonald. formerly of Glenfinnan, P.E.I.
He leaves to mourn his widow
and six small daughters. his; step-mother. sister Anne and brother Malcolm of Detroit. a

The funeral was held Thurs- day. Dec. 17, from the Leslie Funeral Home to the Church of St. Thomas Aquinas. Dearborn. Burial was in Holy Sepulchro cemetery, Detroit.
