On Tuesday, December 28th, the mem- bers of Court Albino, with their wives, sisters and sweethearts bad a dinner and dance in Brother Thos. McKae’s popular hotel. Fally thirty couples partook of a din- ner that would be acredit toany of the lead hotels of Canada. Music was furnished for the occasion bv Bros. E. W. Martin and N A. Gillis, accompanied on the piano by the Misees Moore, Nicholson, McLeod, McRae, Dixon, McMillan and Laraby. Suitable songe were givev by Bros. Moore and Irving, of Courts Abegweit and Bal- nagewn, respectively. The following toasts were drank in water:

Pioneer: It does seem strange that the Stanley cannot face the music when ‘he boats are still rusning on the Charlotte- town, Southport and Recky Point ferries. But she is getting old, and perbaps has not the propelling power she bad when new, though not to the serious extent to waich the sensational Guardian wonld have its readers believe. The need of « eecond winter boat, which is our absolute right, becomes more and more apparent. One boat, as we have said in these columns before, should ran to the eastern portion of the Island, and the other, the new one, should .run into Summerside. There can be no possible doubt upon this poiat, and as 10 a boat being built for that purpece there is no difficulty inthe way. Atthe present time it is before the Russian governmentto build bosts that will run into St. Petersburg all the winter without any trouble, it having been recently demron- strated thata properly constructed boat can run through solid hard ice twelve inches in thickness without trouble or rerious injary.
